Chained Minds

I get to see different people everyday, each one is different in the sense they think differently, they behave differently, and above all they approach same problem differently. But, they can be grouped in 3different groups;

(1) people who are intellectuals.
(2) Others who are educated (with basic education)_,
(3) and a few uneducated ones.

What do we expect from the group 3? Of course these people cannot understand basic science facts. they cannot think about their problems rationally. Group (1) people approach their problems in a more rational way. But, what shall we expect of the 2nd group?

This group constitutes the 70 percent of Indian society, and out of this 70 percent only 15% people carry their reasoning along with them, bestowed by their preliminary education.

The rest of 55% people have shut down their minds and ,though, called educated in terms of certificates, they lack that educated mind.

Their mind lacks reasoning. It accepts ages old superstitions. It thinks the same way as it has been conditioned by the society. It believes the same miracles, same beliefs, carry on with the same concepts as believed by their ancestors. Is it that they are not capable of reasoning? No, they can question what they don’t believe in, but, they simply don’ t want to accept new ideas, they want to carry on with their own beliefs, and they are comfortable doing it.

radio, television, or internet, whatsoever they heed to, they are not willing to absorb new ideas, to open their minds to a new mindset, and to accept the changing world. They have chained their minds and do not allow it to progress and think differently from the crowd.

Chained minds rust.

In order to grow, we need to develop our mind. Mind that think with a different perspective. A mind which says no to all the superstitions and false beliefs, and a mind that bestows courage to stand up and challenge social norms. A mind with the wisdom of what is right and with the perseverance to prove itself.

This will bring the revolution. This will bring progress. This will bring out many more scholars and a new outlook for our society.

do we understand others?

how much do we understand people around us?

let us talk about a few people, our friends, colleagues, or maybe all those,we meet in our day to day life. do we really understand them?

understanding at times comes from an effort, or from feelings of the heart.
if u feel the other persons heart, u understand him.if u had been together for quite long, u know each other.

but, if u had been out of contact with a dear friend, u can still understand him. this is the magic of word friendship. u dont have to do the effort of knowing other person's mind and to understand it, u have to feel it.

a friend feels the vibration of mind, feels an underlying depression in the words, or the unspoken words. friendship blooms with the acceptance of other person's mind. u flow with it.and, it is precious. it is the only relation that never turns loathsome .u dont have to go through it, because of any pressure, but u go with ur own pleasure.

i sense an underlying depression in a friends voice, i feel sadness
in his words, i find a confusion in his mind. i dont want him to be like this. i want him to be him again.i think i understand him to some extent.

this is what frienship is, it senses u from depth, no matter where u r.

try being a good friend to all those around you, and life turns , amazingly beautiful.

am i insensitive to pain?

I met a friend today ,who pointed out, that maybe, I don’t feel the pain of people around me. Is this true?

For me, pain has a definite definition, and I dare not go beyond those few words. i’m not allowed to.. pain also has a character, and a duration. It has a stimulus and depends upon a person's threshold. I can differentiate it accordingly..

During my first year, I came to know pain by pricking my own finger and using my own blood for different experiments , no doubt, at that time I along with my classmates found it a romantic venture.

I felt the pain of 35 y.r. old man who lied on the operation table , when my professor with her natural artistic style held the blade close to his umbilicus and gave an incision. I felt the pain as his intestine was popped out on the table. My god, I knew, I ‘ll faint, So, I looked at my professor. Her face was calm and her mind serene, and her hands steady.

I feel pain. I feel it in altogether different characters and senses all through the day. it could be anything. A lancinating pain of neuralgia, or the pain of a tumor. The pain of a pulpitis, or the pain of a fracture.

I can feel the emotional pain attached to physical ones. I know the pain of a 24 yr. old lady, who has to get her jaw resected,. And the pain of a father, whose 10 yr old son had a malignant tumor.

It’s just that I ve conditioned my mind , and I know if I become sensitive to this pain, I won’t be able to carry on with my duty. It has become an integral part of my life.

I see it, I measure its character, work out it’s location. I fight it, with all the analgesics and anesthetics modern medicine has provided, and it relieves……..

I feel pain…. ……………

maybe not. There is some kind of pain that doesn’t follow the pursuit. it has no particular location, no physical stimulus, rather it gives a feeling of hollowness, a feeling of something lost………. A pain which slows down that musical rhythm of ur heart. Maybe, that’s why it’s termed heart ache.

Yes, there is no mention of this pain in my books, no definition has been assigned to it,
But, it is still there. Every now and then, each one of us goes through it. u can neither understand its character, nor its manner. But, it is there and has survived all analgesics.

U bear it, u get out of it. that’s the way it is handled.
And, in case, u want to relieve it……………….

Give ur pleasant and charming smile to all those who are around you, and try to understand their slowed heart rhythms.
